This morning for the millionth time I witnessed somethings, so interesting, a little aggravating, and even more eye-opening.
While driving to work, i go through this main and busy street for a stretch before getting on the highway. This street happens to pass by a lot of companies and fast food areas like Dunkin’ Donuts, McDonald’s, Wendy’s, Etc. and the entrances to these places are off this main street, which can cause a little bit more traffic than it needs to. Anyways, in between these locations are a little alley-like small streets that people can come out of and into the main street. These alleys don’t have any street lights to give them right of way, it’s more of battle of the fierce at that point. When you come out to the intersection of the alley and the main street, you’re just there either throwing yourself into traffic or, like most people, you’re really waiting until someone gives you an opening or traffic slows down. Traffic slowing down doesn’t happen for a bit sometimes, depending on the day and time of day.
Here’s what I noticed though, almost without fail for the last few days, every time I get to the same area there is somebody there trying to get out of the small street and they are waiting for an IN to get into the traffic off the main street BUT they immediately look down at their phone! So imagine it, you are coming out of a street, there is no street light, you are there in need of someone to let you in, or courage to push through but you look away.
It feels like every time I am by those streets it is the same thing. People get to that little area where they need to be let in and instead of looking for their In, they look down at their phones and get preoccupied with something else, then they look up when they feel it is time for them to go push it Or until traffic has settled or until their distraction has fulfilled what they wanted. The problem with this is, I have also witnessed how multiple cars had continuously stopped for these individuals to get in. Day after day, myself included, cars stopping to let them in, but they are so busy looking down that they miss their IN. They are so busy being distracted, that they were missing their in.
Made me wonder, how many aspects of my life am I asking the divine for an “in” in but continue to distract myself? How many times has someone given me an IN but I’m so busy with my distractions that I keep missing my chance and THEN getting upset with myself or life for not giving me “ a break”. Uffff deep one this morning.
Sending y’all so much love and praying for you to see today your IN, for you to get clarity on an IN you may be or may have missed due to a distraction.
